Helping journalists do their job - services for you and your publication

Daryl Willcox Publishing specialises in providing information services to journalists and PRs and is completely independent. We provide journalists with three sites - Response Source, SourceWire and FeaturesExec - offering tools to help you research features and news, and take control of the information public relations people have about you and your publications. We do not publish magazines or newspapers.

Response Source and Tech Response Source

These innovative services allow you to request information from PRs in sectors relating to your enquiry. All you do is fill in a short online form stating the publication you work for and the nature of the request plus your deadline for replies. PRs will reply if they feel they have relevant information. This service is growing in popularity all the time - nine out of ten journalists who use it come back and use it again.

For technology related requests use Tech Response Source which can be found on our dedicated site for technology journalists at SourceWire, all other requests can be made using Response Source.

Press Release Wires

The Response Source / SourceWire Press Release Wires offer you a customised release wire, where you can choose from 25 categories to receive the news you need. These releases will help you stay up to date with your markets demands and keep you ahead of the game.

You can also read relevant press releases via My Releases in the Freelance Journalist Directory or via our RSS feeds.

Freelance Journalist Directory

Response Source and SourceWire also boasts the Freelance Journalist Directory which includes thousands of freelance journalists and their specialist areas. Sign up for free to create your personal profile page with information and optional contact details about you. Relevant information is made available to commission editors who can contact you via the Freelance Journalist Directory to offer you work. PR subscribers can also see the information you choose to provide, allowing them to offer you suitable information, work in PR writing or media training or invitations to events and parties.

You can now also create a personal page of relative press releases with My Releases. This is only available to journalists who have signed up to the Freelance Journalist Directory. All you have to do is enter a list of keywords, and your page of relevant press releases will be created automatically for you.

Help PRs find you and/or your publication

FeaturesExec Publications Database

FeaturesExec is an online database which provides PRs with editorial information on publications - information is password-protected so your information is only seen by subscribing PRs. Our researchers update each publication's listing regularly by speaking to the editorial staff, but you can get in touch at any time to inform us of changes or check what information we have:

Information listed includes editorial contact details (including the areas particular journalists cover), circulation information and forward features lists (also known as editorial calendars). We also have a very popular media news section on FeaturesExec. Keep us informed of major changes to your publication and we may be able to include a piece in our FeaturesExec Media Bulletin section (news headlines are emailed to PRs once a week).
